The Nathan Aspinall Generation 2 – created and designed in collaboration with the 2023 Matchplay Champion to enhance performance and accuracy. The result is a high precision 95% tungsten barrel with the perfect weight and balance.

The barrel features multiple grip profiles throughout the barrel offering a well-balanced feel to the dart. The front of the barrel features CNC milled cross-sections separated by natural and radial groove finishes, with a nod to ‘The Asp’ on the nose of the barrel.

Barrel & grip

The 95% tungsten construction keeps the barrel dense and relatively slim, which leaves more room in the treble bed when the darts start grouping tightly. Radial grooves create obvious reference points around the barrel, helping the fingers return to the same position throw after throw. Precision milling adds directional edges and grip transitions rather than relying on one repetitive ring cut, giving the hand more information without making the barrel feel crude.

The key feeling is consistency. The grip zones are there to help the fingers find the same place, the matched components keep the setup balanced, and the barrel is designed to leave the hand cleanly rather than fight the throw.

Swiss Point — change the setup without changing the dart

Target’s Swiss Point system uses a precision-machined taper and thread to lock the point securely into the barrel. With the pocket-sized Swiss Point tool, the point can be changed in seconds, making it easy to alter point length, style or finish without a repointing machine. The engineered break point is also designed so a damaged point can still be removed with the tool — a clever system that keeps a match set serviceable and customisable.

Performance coating — more than just the colour

The coated finish gives the barrel its distinctive look while adding a hard-wearing surface over the machined tungsten. Where Target re-machines sections after coating, the exposed tungsten creates both visual contrast and a more clearly defined grip pattern under the fingers.

Pro Grip shafts — simple, proven and match-ready

Target Pro Grip shafts use high-strength nylon with a smooth lead-in and a secure flight hold. They are light, easy to replace and intentionally uncomplicated, letting the barrel and flight do their jobs without adding unnecessary weight to the rear of the dart.
