Description
Mako Edge 9604 — G3SX Copper Photochromic Crown Glass Lens
The Edge wraps closely around the face in durable TR90, limiting stray light and preserving a clear view in bright, reflective environments. Finished in Matte Black, this version is built to deliver comfortable coverage with minimal light intrusion.
The real difference is the G3SX Copper Photochromic Crown Glass. The copper filter enhances contrast and the photochromic lens darkens automatically in sunlight, making it useful from low light through brighter conditions. Mako does not specify High Definition or Infra-Red filters for G3SX.
Choose G3SX when one lens must handle changing light during freshwater or inshore fishing, driving and long outdoor sessions. In the Edge, the lens is paired with a frame designed for confident outdoor use rather than a generic one-size-fits-all story.
Why the Edge frame works
- Durable lightweight TR90
- Close wrap for strong coverage
- Glass-lens performance platform

Mako lens technology explained
100% polarised
Polarised lenses are designed to minimise glare and soothe the eyes, helping the wearer see beyond reflections on water and windscreens.
100% UVA + UVB protection
UV-blocking lenses stop harmful UVA and UVB rays from reaching the eyes, helping protect long-term eye health.
Crown Glass
Crown glass is the industry standard used by Mako across its glass-lens range, delivering exceptional optical clarity and a clean, blemish-free view.
Photochromic response
Photochromic lenses respond automatically to sunlight, darkening outdoors to control glare while remaining lighter in lower-light environments.
100% Australian owned
Mako was an early Australian adopter of glass polarised lens technology and remains 100% Australian owned.
Scratch-resistant treatments help protect lenses during normal use but cannot make any lens completely scratch-proof. Always rinse away salt, sand and dust before wiping.

The Mako difference
Mako has developed polarised eyewear for Australian conditions for more than 25 years. Its Italian and Japanese lens program uses decentered optics engineered for 99.9% glare-free vision and true depth perception, with products tested by anglers, skippers, drivers and other outdoor professionals. Mako remains 100% Australian owned.
Care for your lenses
Rinse away salt, sand and dust with clean fresh water before wiping. Dry with a clean microfibre cloth and store the sunglasses in a protective case when they are not being worn. Avoid leaving eyewear exposed to extreme heat inside a parked vehicle.
