Description
Mako Covert 9596 — G0HR Grey HDIR Crown Glass Lens
The Covert uses an impact- and warp-resistant nylon-composite frame to combine robust outdoor function with a clean modern shape. Finished in Matte Black, this version is built to deliver durable structure with a comfortable, polished fit.
The real difference is the G0HR Grey HDIR Crown Glass. The neutral grey filter keeps colours natural while strongly reducing brightness and reflected glare. Mako’s High Definition filter removes selected yellow and orange wavelengths to improve colour separation and distance clarity, while the Infra-Red filter reduces heat transfer through the lens for more comfortable wear.
Choose G0HR for bright sun, open water, driving or sensitive eyes when maximum light control and neutral colour are the priority. In the Covert, the lens is paired with a frame designed for confident outdoor use rather than a generic one-size-fits-all story.

Mako lens technology explained
100% polarised
Polarised lenses are designed to minimise glare and soothe the eyes, helping the wearer see beyond reflections on water and windscreens.
100% UVA + UVB protection
UV-blocking lenses stop harmful UVA and UVB rays from reaching the eyes, helping protect long-term eye health.
Crown Glass
Crown glass is the industry standard used by Mako across its glass-lens range, delivering exceptional optical clarity and a clean, blemish-free view.
High Definition filter
The High Definition filter uses rare-earth elements to filter selected yellow and orange wavelengths, improving colour separation and long-distance clarity.
Infra-Red filter
The Infra-Red filter reduces heat transfer through the lens and heat build-up behind it for more comfortable wear in hard sunlight.
100% Australian owned
Mako was an early Australian adopter of glass polarised lens technology and remains 100% Australian owned.
Scratch-resistant treatments help protect lenses during normal use but cannot make any lens completely scratch-proof. Always rinse away salt, sand and dust before wiping.

The Mako difference
Mako has developed polarised eyewear for Australian conditions for more than 25 years. Its Italian and Japanese lens program uses decentered optics engineered for 99.9% glare-free vision and true depth perception, with products tested by anglers, skippers, drivers and other outdoor professionals. Mako remains 100% Australian owned.
Care for your lenses
Rinse away salt, sand and dust with clean fresh water before wiping. Dry with a clean microfibre cloth and store the sunglasses in a protective case when they are not being worn. Avoid leaving eyewear exposed to extreme heat inside a parked vehicle.
