Description
Atomic Trick Bitz Lure Blanks – Build, Paint, Rig & Tune Your Own Hardbody Lures
A great custom lure starts with a blank worth building on. Atomic Trick Bitz lure blanks give anglers a purpose-made hardbody platform for creating confidence colours, matching local bait and building a lure that is genuinely different from the factory rack.
Why build your own lure
- Match the baitfish, prawns, insects or colour tones that dominate your local water.
- Recreate a favourite colour pattern that is hard to find or no longer available.
- Build high-visibility dirty-water colours or subtle clear-water finishes for specific conditions.
- Control the full look of the lure — base colour, flank, back, belly, eyes, flash accents and final detailing.
- Use the finished lure as a complete tuning project by matching hooks, rings and carefully placed Sticky Lead.

A proper custom-lure workflow
- Plan: choose the blank around the presentation and water you fish.
- Prep: clean the body and prepare it for the paint system you use.
- Paint: build base, back, flank, belly and detail layers.
- Detail: add Trick Bitz Eyes and cut-to-shape Holographic Tape where required.
- Protect: apply a compatible final finish if your paint system requires it.
- Rig: fit appropriate hooks and rings for the lure and target fish.
- Test: swim the finished lure and tune it before relying on it in a fishing situation.
Tuning matters
Paint, clear coat, hooks, rings and added weight all change the finished mass of a hardbody. Treat the first water test as part of the build. Small adjustments can make the difference between a lure that simply looks good and one that swims exactly the way you intended.
From the first base coat to the first strike, Trick Bitz blanks give lure builders the freedom to create a lure around their water, their target fish and their own confidence pattern.
