Description
Atomic Hardz Squid 3.5 – Premium Sinking Egi Jig Built to Trigger Squid Strikes
The step-up size for deeper water, more current and aggressive squid that want a stronger profile and faster sink.
The Atomic Hardz Squid Jig is built for Australian squidding: a slim, hydrodynamic, sinking egi jig that cuts through current, darts wide on the lift and pauses in the strike zone where squid usually grab it. This 3.5 size is a bigger profile egi jig for deeper water, stronger current and aggressive squid feeding over weed, rock and reef.
Why This Squid Jig Catches So Well
- Fast Wide Dart action: snaps sideways on sharp rod lifts to imitate a fleeing prawn or baitfish.
- Slim current-cutting body: reduces drag so the jig works cleanly in both slow and fast water.
- Balanced sinking presentation: lets you count it down, hold depth and keep the jig in the bite window longer.
- UV and glow colour options: gives you strong choices for clear water, dirty water, deep water, dawn, dusk and night lights.
- Sharp squid crowns: built to pin tentacles cleanly when squid grab on the pause.
- Australian-specific colours: colour range designed around local squid grounds and real Australian conditions.
Where to Fish the Atomic Squid 3.5
Best water: deeper weed beds, rock walls, reef edges, boat-based squid drifts and tidal current lines.
Ideal setup: fish it on a light egi rod with 0.6-1.0PE braid with 10-14lb fluorocarbon leader. Cast long, let it sink to the strike zone, lift the rod sharply one or two times, then pause and let the jig fall. Most squid hits happen on that pause or slow drop.
Colour Guide
- Amys Assassin: high-contrast search colour for mixed light and dirty water.
- Black Beauty: dark silhouette for dawn, dusk, overcast days and night lighting.
- Circus Splash: loud reaction colour when squid need flash and contrast.
- Orange Tiger: classic aggressive squid colour for low light, stirred-up water and active squid.
- Pink Holo: bright flash colour for clear water, visibility and reaction hits.
- Red Head: strong target point colour for dirty water, low light and territorial squid.
- Roy: balanced natural/bright option for changing conditions.
- Southern Sunset: warm UV-style colour for dawn, dusk and deep weed edges.
- White Beauty: clean glow/white style option for deep water, night sessions and clear water.

Egi Good Times Squid Tips
- Start natural or white in clear water, then switch to Pink Holo, Orange Tiger or Circus Splash when squid need a louder target.
- In low light, dirty water or deeper edges, rotate Red Head, Southern Sunset and glow/white profiles early.
- If squid follow but will not grab, downsize and add longer pauses. If the jig is not staying down, step up a size.
- Keep the line semi-slack on the drop so the jig falls naturally but you can still see taps, line jumps or sudden stops.
Built for anglers who want an egi jig that casts cleanly, darts hard, sinks predictably and stays dangerous through the pause.
