How to throw a Dart – Grip – Stance – Release – Focus

Here’s a few tips beyond making sure the pointy end is facing the dartboard that’ll help them learn to throw. 👉

GRIP The dart should feel comfortable and natural in your hand. It can take a bit of experimenting with different shaft lengths, barrel thicknesses and textures, and weights before you find the perfect dart for you.

STANCE Keep your weight on your front foot the lean slightly forward making sure your back foot stays secure on the floor. The more balanced your body is, and the less it moves, the more accurate your throw will be.

RELEASE Try to keep your throwing action smooth and follow through with your arm pointing at the target on release. As you improve, reduce your follow through and release the dart slightly earlier. Remember that throwing faster is often more accurate than throwing harder.

FOCUS Concentrate on the exact place you want your dart to land, and black out all other distractions. Only throw when you are completely focused – even if it means relaxing and resetting.

That’s the basics sorted 👍 and cheers to USA Darts Legend Chris White and Shot Darts for the tips.
